Bail Bond Cost and Payment Options

The bail bond fee, called a premium, is set by the California Department of Insurance. It is equal to 10% of the total bail amount. For example, if bail is set at $10,000, then you will pay a bail bond premium of $1,000 to a bondsman.

We know that paying a large sum of money isn’t always easy. That is why we accept payment with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover card.  We often offer no-collateral bail bonds, and in many cases we can make a bail bond payment plan for those who need one. There are no additional fees for a payment plan.

This is a very trying time for you. We will work hard to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

For bail bonds in Yuba County, a bondsman is ready for your call at any time of the day or night when you call 1-877-861-3761.

Located in California’s Central Valley, Yuba County was one of the original counties in California when it became a state in 1850. Over 72,000 residents make their home in the county which stretches across 643 square miles. Much of Yuba County is unincorporated, so the responsibility for law enforcement falls under the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department.

When someone is arrested in Yuba County, they will be taken to the Yuba County Jail  in Marysville, which is run by the Yuba Sheriff’s Department. They will be fingerprinted and photographed, and a nationwide background checks and warrant search will be done.

After booking is complete, a bail amount will be set and the defendant will be able to post bail for their release. In order to post bail, the full amount must be paid to the jail with cash, cashier’s check, or money order. Another option is to use the services of a licensed bail bondsman.

How is Bail Set in Yuba County?

In California, bail is set on a county-by county basis. Each year, the Yuba county judges review the current bail schedule and make any necessary adjustments. This bail schedule will be used by local law enforcement to set bail amounts.

Judges will consider public safety first. More severe crimes will have a higher bail amount. Repeat offenders and those considered a flight risk will also face a larger bail.

There is a possibility that a defendant could be released on their own recognizance (OR). In some cases, the judge may decide to have a defendant remanded, which means they will not be able to be bailed out of jail and must spend the duration of the court proceedings in jail.
