Ceres Police Department
Ceres Police Department
727 Third St.
Ceres, CA 95307
Phone: 209-538-5726
The City of Ceres has its own full-service emergency communications center, providing 24-hour dispatching services for police patrol units and the center is a 911 emergency answering service.
If your friend or family member has been arrested by the Ceres Police Department, they will be taken the Stanislaus County Jail. Women are generally taken to the Public Safety Center. Here, they will be booked into the system. Booking consists of fingerprinting, photographs (“mug shots”), a background check and warrant search.
Depending on how busy the jail staff is at the time your loved one is brought in, it could take several hours to complete the booking process. Once booking is complete, a bail amount will be set. You will have the option of posting the entire bail amount to the jail or court yourself, or you can use the services of a licensed California bail bond agency.
Bail Responsibilities
When you enter into a bail agreement with a bondsman, you become what is known as an “indemnitor.” You are agreeing to be the person responsible for the bail contract and the defendant. By signing an agreement with a bail bondsman, you agree to pay the bail bond premium in full. This is the fee that is set by the state of California. It is equal to 10% of the total bail amount. This fee is non-refundable. Even if the defendant is found not guilty or charges are not filed, this fee must be paid.
It is your responsibility to make sure that, once released, the defendant shows up at court appearances. If the defendant fails to appear, you are responsible to help get the defendant back into the Stanislaus County judicial system. A missed court date can be rectified with a simple phone call.
You must make sure that the defendant’s information, such as address and employer, remain current. If the defendant leaves town or “goes on the run,” it is your responsibility to notify the courts and bondsman of their whereabouts, if they are known to you. That said, such problems are extremely rare.
Having a friend or family member in jail can put a lot of strain on you. This situation doesn’t have to be handled alone. We are here to help you in your time of need. Tonya Page Bail Bonds agents are ready to assist you and all it takes is one phone call to answer any questions you have about bailing out a loved one arrested by the Ceres Police Department.
