Solano County Jail

Jail Information

Solano County Jail/Justice Center Detention Facility
500 Union Ave.
Fairfield, CA 94533
Phone: 707-784-7100

The Solano County Jail is under the command of the Custody Division of the Solano County Sheriff’s Department. It is the goal of the Department to ensure that the jail is a safe, secure and humane environment for inmates. Both sentenced and pre-sentenced inmates are housed at the facility. Law enforcement agencies throughout the county transport individuals who have been arrested in their jurisdiction to the Solano County Jail.

Once an individual has been arrested in Solano County, they will be brought to the Justice Center Detention Facility for booking. The booking process will consist of fingerprinting, photographs (“mug shots”), a background check and warrant search. Depending on how busy the jail staff is when someone is brought in, it could take several hours to complete the booking process.

With the extreme overcrowding of California jails, the Solano County Sheriff’s Department utilizes Alternative Sentencing Programs, which will also help reduce costs from housing inmates. With the use of GPS tracking, qualifying offenders will remain productive members of society while maintaining public safety. Offenders may be offered Work Release where they will perform manual labor for each day of their sentence. Another option is a Work Furlough. The inmate must be employed or enrolled in school and will be released for up to 12 hours each day to work or attend classes. With electronic monitoring, participants must wear device 24-hours a day as a means of supervision.
