Established in 1941, the Benicia Police Department has been working diligently to protect residents, visitors and their property. They have developed a partnership with the community, which helps the officers know how to deliver their services, how to prioritize those services, and set goals and objectives.
The department consists of 36 sworn officers, 17 civilian employees, and 35 citizen volunteers. It is divided into two separate divisions, Operations and Services. The Operations Division includes uniformed patrol, traffic unit, SWAT team, K9 units, bike patrols and animal control. The Services Division handles investigations, emergency communications, records and information, and police volunteers.
If your friend or family member has been arrested in Benicia, they will likely be taken to the Solano County Jail in Fairfield for booking. This process will consist of fingerprinting, photographs (mug shots), a background check and warrant search. Depending on how busy the jail staff is when they are brought in, this process could take several hours.
We know it’s difficult to be patient when you know that your loved one is in distress. As soon as the booking process is complete, a bail amount will be set. If you call us as soon as possible, we can post a bond to the Solano County Jail right away, 24-hours a day. Again, it could still be several hours after the bail has been posted before your loved one is released, so please be patient.
Paying for a Bail Bond
In California, the cost of a bail bond (bail bond premium) is set by the Department of Insurance. It is equal to 10% of the total bail amount. For example, if bail is set at $10,000, then you would pay a bondsman $1,000. This fee is not negotiable and non-refundable.
We know that paying a large sum of money at a moment’s notice isn’t always possible. That is why we accept payment with all major credit cards. We often offer no-collateral bail bonds, and in many cases we can make a bail bond payment plan for clients who need them. There are no additional taxes or fees with a payment plan.
Our bondsmen are professional, caring agents. We want to be sure that the bail bonds process goes smoothly for you. We can complete all of the paperwork in the most convenient method for you: phone, fax, email, or in person. One of our staff members will even meet you at your home or work.
Call us today at 1-877-861-3761. We are ready to assist you with bail bonds in Benecia.
