Santa Barbara County Jail System
Santa Barbara County jail system has numerous locations. The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s department operates two detention facilities (jails) and multiple police stations and substations. After booking, Santa Barbara inmates may make outgoing collect calls, but may not receive incoming calls. Correctional Department staff will not accept messages for inmates.

The Calle Real facility is the County’s main jail and is part of the Sheriff’s Department main station. This location also has a full time medical staff, including psychiatric staff. There are usually 700 inmates on a daily average. This facility usually holds the sentenced and pretrial detainees. Many of them are generally eligible for bail bond release.
