Jail & Bail for SDPD Eastern Division
The SDPD Eastern Division Police Station does not have a jail at their facility, therefore, bail cannot be posted there. Anyone arrested in these areas will be taken to the San Diego Men’s Central Jail, or the Las Colinas Women’s Jail if they are female.
Once the defendant is completed being booked into the system, (which includes photographs and background checks), they may be released from jail on bail bond or they may be held until arraignment if no bail is posted. Arraignment generally takes place within three business days. For example, if the defendant is arrested on a Thursday evening, they would usually be arraigned by the Tuesday morning.
There are several options for release from jail in California. Some of these options include: Bail Bonds, Own Recognizance (“O.R.”), Citation Release (“Cite Out”), Property Bonds and Cash Bonds. Bail can usually be posted at most San Diego jails, 24-hours a day.
