The Las Colinas Detention Center, the San Diego Women’s Jail, is operated by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. It is located off the 67, west of Magnolia and north of Mission Gorge.

The majority of female prisoners in San Diego County are housed at this facility. It is estimated that approximately 13,500 bookings for female prisoners are done here annually. Some of these prisoners will be eligible for bail bonds and others will not.  The Board of Corrections has issued a rated capacity of 400 inmates for the jail and the court has ordered a cap of approximately 500.
