What To Do When Someone Is Arrested

If somebody you know has been arrested and taken to the San Diego Central Jail, these tips, gleaned from our many years of experience, can save you valuable time and money:

  1. Don’t panic: Discovering that somebody you care about has been jailed is very stressful. Your first instinct is to “get them out now” no matter what you have to sign or how much it costs. But getting the help of a professional bail bondsman who can help you learn the facts behind your loved one’s arrest can save you hours, even days, of your time and thousands of dollars.
  2. Do call Tonya Page Bail Bonds: We have a lot of experience with the SDCJ. We also have a direct link to it, so we can see the bail amount and the charge. This allows us to give you accurate information and help you strategize what must be done. Our bondsmen have years of experience when it comes helping families just like yours. I guarantee that I will treat your family like I do my own!
  3. Don’t rush to the jail: Doing so before we sort out the facts and the details of the bond is a waste of time that will only add to your stress. If you call Tonya Page Bail Bonds at 1-877-861-3761, we’ll walk you through the paperwork and post the bond for you, saving you time and money.
  4. Don’t wait at the jail: You could end up stuck there for hours – sometimes an entire night — while an inmate is being booked into the system, only to learn that you don’t have the right paperwork, money resources or ID to get them out! But we’re familiar with the San Diego Central Jail system so we know how to work it.

San Diego Inmate Information

The Central Jail in downtown San Diego is the place where most male prisoners in San Diego County are incarcerated. But they may not be kept here depending on the situation. A move to another jail causes significant additional processing time. This can create a problem for family members and friends who don’t move fast enough to bail them out.

The jail, which was built in 1998, houses about a 1000 inmates. Around 200 sworn employees and just as many professional civilian staff members are responsible for the jail’s daily operation. SDCJ is a hi-tech facility uses touch-screen controls and surveillance cameras to monitor its population. It also has a Central Command Center which controls all of the jail’s electrical operations in the event of an emergency or major system failure.

The building itself consists of eleven floors, several mezzanines and a large basement. It was the tallest construction project ever commissioned by the County of San Diego. The fact that it has won several major architectural awards belies its custodial purpose.

The Central Jail is advanced in more ways than just its showy exterior and state-of-the-art tech. It happens to provide a wide range of medical and psychiatric services for inmates, including on-site dialysis, infectious disease control and dental care. It also has a battery of on-site physicians, psychiatrists (for the largest psychiatric unit in San Diego County), nurses and social workers.

SDCJ focuses on inmates with special needs and newly booked arrestees awaiting transfer. Prisoners that have serious medical or mental issues, who are serving as their own attorneys and celebrity inmates are locked up behind its walls, too.

Do you need to find out if someone you know is in the SDCJ? This page will provide that information for you.
