The Central Detention Center Jail, also known as the “CDC,” was first opened in 1971. However, due to a lack in budget, was forced to close at one time and reopened in 1994. Upon the reopening in 1994, the jail was used to house federal inmates. Currently, the jail houses approximately 330 federal inmates and approximately 600 county inmates. The CDC also encompasses a Juvenile Intervention program for “at risk” youth.

The Booking Process
It’s important to know that this occurrence can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours to book (process, photograph and fingerprint) an inmate. Bail cannot be posted until they have been completely updated and entered into the system. However, we can often get the bail bond process started right away.
We always recommend posting bail for an arrestee as soon as possible for a much faster release time. To prepare for the bail bond process, it is important to gather as much information as possible, such as the defendant’s full name, social security number, location, crime that is said to have been committed and the set bond. Once the defendant is booked and this information is relayed to us, we can post the bail bond shortly.
