Captain Greg Garland, along with his team of Sheriff deputies helps to keep Big Bear a safe and pleasant place to live or visit. They operate the Big Bear Jail, a Type 1 jail facility located within the county building. Because the jail is small, a person who is not bailed out in a timely manner may be transferred to a different location to avoid overcrowding.
If you have a friend or loved one that is currently being held by the Big Bear Sheriff’s Department, please call us today so they aren’t transferred, which can add significant time to their jail stay.
Bail Amounts and Cost
In California, a bail bond cost is 10% of the full bail amount. If you are uncertain about the defendant’s bail, we can contact the Big Bear Station or the San Bernardino Jail for you to find out charges and bail amounts.
Often, it may take some time for the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station to provide full information, depending on how busy they are. Generally, the arresting officer must first complete the arrest and booking process before they can provide full bail information. As a professional licensed bail bondsman, even if the bail amount is not immediately available from the Sheriff’s department, we can often help you to estimate the bail amount based on what you know of the charges. This can help you decide if you can afford to, or want to move forward with posting bail.
