We realize it’s tough to be patient during times like these, however, it’s important to know that it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours to photograph, fingerprint and ultimately process an inmate into the computer system once arrested. The San Bernardino correctional facilities can house inmates and arrestees on the daily average of approximately 5,600. The four San Bernardino County main jails are: West Valley Detention Center, Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center, Central Detention Center and Adelanto Detention Center.

If an inmate is jailed at one of the other smaller jail facilities or stations in San Bernardino County, they will likely eventually be transferred to the West Valley Detention Center Jail if they are not quickly bailed out or released.  Other jail facilities throughout the county are typically used for short term housing only. We always recommend bailing someone out of jail while they are still housed at one of the smaller facilities for a much faster release time. Most bail bonds can be posted at San Bernardino County jails 24 hours a day, however, some inmates may have to remain in jail until their case has been settled in court.
