Bail Bond Responsibilities
Bail bonds serve as a guarantee between the contract signer (called the “indemnitor”), the licensed bail bondsman, and the court of law that the defendant will appear in court. They are an acknowledged agreement that states that the accused will appear in court at the expected date. If for some reason the defendant does not appear in court at the expected date, the bondsman and the indemnitor are responsible to get the defendant into court. Generally, this is taken care of with a simple phone call.
