Patrol services are divided into three areas in order to allow Sheriff’s Deputies to better serve the vast county. From the Bridgeport office, Deputies have the responsibility of the northern part of the county. This location is the main facility, housing the Administration, Finance Office, Civil and Jail Operations. The communities served by this station are Bridgeport, Coleville, Topaz and Walker.  Anyone arrested in Mono County will be taken to the Mono County Jail.

Deputies from the June Lake station patrol the communities of Conway Ranch, Lee Vining, June Lake and Mono City. This substation is not operated full-time, however, and there is a phone near the main entrance to the station that will directly connect a caller to the Bridgeport station.

The Deputies of the south patrol station cover the communities of Benton Hot Springs, Crowley Lake, Chalfant, Hammil Valley, Oasis, Paradise, Sunnyslopes, Swall Meadows, Tom’s Place and White Mountain Estates. Special Units

K9 Teams are utilized by the Mono County Sheriff’s Department to protect Deputies, apprehend criminals, and as a deterrent for crime prevention. K9 teams help increase community relations through school demonstrations and public events. The Boating Unit for Mono County provides medical aid on the county’s waterways, as well as assisting paramedics with various search and rescue missions. They also help transport study groups and State researchers on water-related issues and conduct inspections of both private and commercial vessels. The Unit operates three patrol boats: one on Lake Crowley, one on Topaz Lake and a third that patrols waterways throughout the county.

The Mounted Patrol Unit gives patrol assistance to large gatherings in Mono and Inyo Counties. They are also called upon to assist with locating evidence.

Mono County Sheriff’s Department has its own narcotics enforcement team, known as MONET. Deputies work in conjunction with Mammoth Lakes Police Department, Mono County District Attorney and Mono County Probation Department to combat the influence of narcotics in the County.
