The City of Los Banos has a population of over 36,000 residents and is the second-largest city in Merced County. The Los Banos Police Department works to ensure a higher quality of life for residents.

There are 58 full-time and 6 part-time employees working in the department. The department is broken down into three divisions. The Operations Division is responsible for patrol, jail operations, community oriented policing and special assignments. There are 28 sworn officers within this division. Fourteen employees make up the Administrative Division. Eighteen employees make up the Police Services Division.

The Los Banos Police Department oversees a Type-1 jail facility that houses up to 20 inmates for a maximum of 96 hours. This is the only booking facility on the west side of the county. Anyone arrested by LBPD, Gustine PD, Dos Palos PD, Merced County Sheriff’s, State Parks, State Parole, and CHP will be transported to this facility for booking.  If the inmate is not being housed at this facility chances are they have been transported to the Merced County Jail.

Booking will include photographing, fingerprinting, background checks and warrant search. A total of 2,467 bookings have taken place at this facility in 2010.

Cost and Payment Options

The bail bond fee, called a premium, is set by the California Department of Insurance. It is equal to 10% of the total bail amount. For example, if bail is set at $10,000, then you will pay a bail bond premium of $1,000 to a bondsman.

We know that paying a large sum of money isn’t always easy. That is why we are happy to accept payment with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover card. We often offer no-collateral bail bonds, and in many cases we can make a payment plan for those who need one. There are no additional fees for a payment plan.

This is a very trying time for you. We will work hard to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

We are ready for your call at any time of the day or night when you call 1-877-861-3761 for bail bonds in Los Banos.
