Booking Process

The booking process will include fingerprinting, photographs, a background check and warrant search. This process could take between 2-6 hours, depending on how busy the jail staff is at the time someone is brought in for booking.

After booking is complete, bail will be set according to the Marin County bail schedule. As soon as bail is set, we can post a bond to the Marin County Jail so that your loved one can be released.

Bail Responsibilities

When you enter into a bail agreement with a bondsman, you become what is known as an “indemnitor.” You are agreeing to be the person responsible for the bail contract and the defendant. By signing an agreement with a bail bondsman, you agree to pay the bail bond premium in full. This is the fee that is set by the state of California. It is equal to 10% of the total bail amount. This fee is non-refundable. Even if the defendant is found not guilty or charges are not filed, this fee must be paid.
