Inmate Life

Identification wristbands are placed on each inmate at booking. These wristbands contain an inmate’s name, criminal history number, and date of birth. The numbers on the wristband are required in order for the inmate to receive mail, medication, commissary, meals and be transported to and from court.

Inmates will be given clothes to wear while they are incarcerated at the jail. They are also given a welfare bag that contains toothbrush and toothpaste, razor and soap. Any personal items will be held until the inmate is released from custody.

If the inmate had any money with them at the time of arrest, it will be placed in the inmate’s account via a kiosk. The same kiosk is available so for friends and family who wish to add funds to the account while they are being held. Commissary may be purchased with these funds or cash bail can be paid with the funds also.

Inmates are allowed to make three phone calls during the booking process.
An inmate’s housing classification will be determined by the answers they give to a questionnaire, such as gang affiliation, criminal history, and any previous history while incarcerated.

A DNA test may be performed via saliva swab. The Department of Justice may also request a blood sample to be drawn.
