The Bail Bond Process
Anyone that is arrested in the West L.A. area is usually taken to the LAPD’s West Los Angeles Station for initial processing after arrest. The L.A. Sheriff’s Department will transfer men detainees to the Men’s Central Jail and the women will be transferred to the Lynwood Jail. I can provide both Men’s Central Jail bail bonds and Lynwood bail bonds. If I am called soon enough to start the bail bond process, the detainee might avoid a transfer.
A transfer adds significantly to the amount of time incarcerated. Besides, the physical time for transfer to downtown L.A., there is paperwork and computer updating that must take place before an individual can be eligible for release on bail.
When you call me:
- The bond approval process will only take a few minutes. You will be asked questions about you and the defendant. This will help me to decide if I can help you.
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I will answer all your questions concerning the bail bond process and your responsibilities when you bail someone out of jail.
After the bond is approved:
- There are two documents to sign which are required by the Department of Insurance.
- Email and fax is available to process the bond paperwork and payment.
- Alternatively, I can meet you at the West LA Community jail.
- The bail process in Los Angeles should take less than an hour.
If you are not from California, I will still be able to help you. In the state of California, bail agents have to be licensed. Make sure the bail bondsman you are working with is licensed.
