The Lancaster Sheriff’s Department and Jail is a temporary holding facility people who were arrested in the Antelope Valley, including Palmdale and Acton.
Once inmates are booked at this station they will be transferred to Santa Clarita Station or to one of the downtown jail facilities like the Los Angeles Men’s Central, the Twin Towers Jail, or any of the county jails operated by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The inmates are not allowed to receive any incoming calls. However, while staying at this facility, they can make outgoing collect calls to family members or friends.
You can visit an arrestee twice daily, during the hours of 9:00 am – 11:00 am and from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, 7 days a week.
The LASD Lancaster Station is located in the northernmost portion of the County of Los Angeles. It is a venerable institution that dates back to 1890, when Lancaster was truly part of the wild west. Early Lancaster Sheriff’s offices were located in the back of a bar, a barber shop, and a car dealership.
Today, the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station is a state of the art facility that was named Los Angeles County’s first Research and Development Station. This designation has given the station a number of opportunities to test new techniques in crime reduction and prevention. It also boasts a detective bureau-juvenile court complex.
Booking and Bail in Lancaster
When people are taken into custody by a Lancaster County Sheriff, they are brought to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station and Jail. It takes anywhere from 2 to 3 hours for the jail to process, photograph, fingerprint and, book an inmate into their computer system.
