On this informative page, you will find detailed information for Los Angeles Police Department Stations, jails and the communities they serve.

Inmates at Los Angeles police station jails are allowed to have one visit a day by a friend or family member. They may visit 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. A bail bondsman, attorney, or member of the clergy may visit inmates at these jails anytime.

Bail can be posted at Los Angeles Police Department Jails 24 hours a day. Call to speak with a licensed bail bondsman 24 hours a day for additional bail or arrestee information for any Los Angeles Community Police Station at (877) 861-3761.

LAPD stations are divided into geographic regions called Bureaus. They are named as the Central, South, Valley, Metro and West Bureau’s respectively. The stations listed below feature a link for additional information.

Central Bureau

Central Community Police Station-Jail
LAPD Central Division is located in downtown Los Angeles and serves: Bunker Hill/Historic Core, Central City East, Chinatown, Civic Center, Downtown Los Angeles, Fashion District, Jewelry District, Little Tokyo, Old Bank District, Solano Canyon, South Park-Entertainment, and the Toy District.

There is no jail at Central Division; arrestees in the area are taken to nearby Parker Center jail.

Hollenbeck Police Station-Jail
The Hollenbeck Station serves: Aliso Village, Boyle Heights, El Sereno, Estrada Court, Hermon, Hillside Village, Lincoln Heights, Montecito Heights, Monterey Hills, Pico Gardens, Ramona Gardens, Rose Hills Courts, and University Hills.

If someone you know has been arrested in any of these areas, they will be taken to the Hollenbeck Station temporarily.

Newton Community Police Station-Jail
The Newton Station serves the Fashion District, Pueblo Del Rio and South Park-Entertainment areas.

Rampart Community Police Station
The Rampart Station serves Angelino Heights, Echo Park, Historic Filipino Town, Korea Town, Lafayette Park, Macarthur Park, Pico-Union, Temple-Beaudry, Virgil Village, and Westlake. There is no jail located at this station.

Northeast Community Police Station-Jail
The Northeast Station serves the areas of Atwater Village, Cypress Park, Eagle Rock, East Hollywood, Echo Park, Elysian Park, Elysian Valley, Franklin Hills, Garvanza, Glassell Park, Highland Park, Los Feliz, Mount Washington, Silver Lake and Solano Canyon.

77th Street Community Police Station-Jail
The LAPD 77th Street station serves: Athens Park, Chesterfield Square, Crenshaw, Gramercy Park, Hyde Park, South Park- 51st and Menlo, Vermont Knolls, Vermont Park, View Heights.

If someone you know has been arrested in these areas, they will be transported to the 77th Street Jail located on South Broadway in Los Angeles.

Harbor Community Police Station-Jail
The Harbor Station serves: Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, San Pedro, Terminal Island, and Wilmington.

Harbor Community Station was newly opened in April 2009. Previously, the station did not have a jail. The new facility, located at Fifth and Centre streets in San Pedro, does have a jail.

The Southeast Station serves: Avalon Gardens, Gardena Boulevard, Hacienda Village, Imperial Courts, Jordon Downs, Nickerson Gardens, Parkside Manor and Watts.

There is no jail located at this station.

Southwest Community Police Station-Jail
The Southwest Station serves: Adams-Normandie, Baldwin Hills, Baldwin Village, Baldwin Vista, Crenshaw, Exposition Park, Jefferson Park, Leimert Park, Union Square, University Park, Village Green and West Adams.

Valley Bureau

Devonshire Community Police Station-Jail
The LAPD Devonshire Station in Northridge services the San Fernando Valley from Valley Circle on the west to the 405 Freeway on the east and from Roscoe on the south to the northern board of the City of Los Angeles.

The Devonshire jail is currently closed and those arrested by officers from Devonshire Division will be taken to the Van Nuys jail.

Van Nuys Community Police Station-Jail
The Van Nuys Police Station and jail serves: Blythe Street, Lake Balboa, Sepulveda, Sherman Oaks, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, Ventura Business District and West Van Nuys.

The Van Nuys jail, which is the largest and busiest jail in the San Fernando Valley, is also utilized by the West Valley Station, which does not have a jail, as well as other stations when they are crowded.

The courthouse is located in Van Nuys and defendants are often brought temporarily to Van Nuys jail during hearings and trials.

West Valley Community Police Station
The West Valley Station serves Encino, Mandeville Canyon, Northridge, Reseda, Tarzana and Warner Center.

There is no jail located at this station. West Valley does, however, have holding cells which are utilized on a short-term basis so that detectives may question defendants prior to them being transported to the Van Nuys Jail.

Olympic Community Police Station
The Olympic Station is the newest LAPD station. Its grand opening was on January 17, 2009. There is no jail located at the Olympic Community Police station.

Metro Division

LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Jail
The LAPD Metro station and the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC Jail)* serves Chinatown, Little Tokyo, South Park, Central City East, Historic Core, Financial District, Artists Lofts, Olvera Street, Solano Canyon, South Park-Entertainment, The Toy District, The Jewelry District, The Convention Center, The Fashion District, and the Bunker Hill historic core.

Metro Jail is operated by the LAPD and is within a couple of miles of Los Angeles County’s downtown Men’s Central Jail.
