When you bail someone out of the El Monte Jail, they may be able to expect release within a couple of hours depending upon their individual circumstances. If a defendant who is arrested for a misdemeanor offense has met every legal requirement in order to be released, he/she will be released in a prompt and timely manner. We understand that when someone you care about is in jail, you would like to have them released as soon as possible. Jail staff cannot tell us in advance exactly when the inmate will be released, but once released, the defendant will have access to a phone. If detainees are not bailed out quickly or released, male inmates may eventually be transferred to the larger Los Angeles County main jail facility, Twin Towers / Men’s Central Jail; women may be transported to the Lynwood Jail. While bail can also be posted at these Jail facilities, the detainee will most likely remain in custody considerably longer due to additional processing.
