Avalon Station Inmate Information
Avalon Sheriff’s Station provides law enforcement for Santa Catalina Island, San Clemente Island, and the ocean waters between the islands and mainland of Southern California. Catalina Island has a full-time population of approximately 3500 residents. The vast majority of these residents live in the 2.6-square-mile City of Avalon. The total population can reach as high as 20,000 on a major holiday.
Arrestees in the Catalina Island area are initially taken to the Avalon Station for initial processing after arrest. The Sheriff’s Department will generally transfer male detainees who are not bailed out quickly to Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles. Women are generally transferred to the Lynwood Jail.
A transfer adds significantly to the amount of incarceration time. Besides, the physical time for transfer from Catalina Island to downtown L.A., there is paperwork and computer updating that must take place before an individual can be released on bail. Often, a transfer can be avoided by starting the Bail Bond process as soon as possible.
The Bail Bond Process
When you call me, I will get you through the bond approval process quickly over the phone. I will ask you questions about yourself and the defendant in order to determine if I can help.
During our call, I will answer any questions that you may have. I want to be certain that you understand the bail bond process and your responsibilities should you decide to bail someone out of jail.
Once the bond is approved, there are basically two simple documents to sign. Most of my clients use email and fax to process the bond paperwork and payment. Alternatively, I can meet you at the Avalon jail. I can complete the bail process in Catalina in less than one hour.
Bonds for Catalina Visitors

Perhaps the individual got into a disagreement with another driver or even a spouse. Or, perhaps a DUI. California laws and enforcement may be stricter than some other states.
