The Taft Police Department is staffed by a police chief, three sergeants, eight patrol officers, and several civilian personnel. They are responsible for approximately 10 square miles in the Taft area and its 7,000 residents. The department controls a Type I jail facility for pre-arraignment as well as a 460- bed Community Correctional Facility for the State of California’s Department of Corrections.
Those arrested in Taft will be taken to the Taft Police Department and Jail for booking. This process consists of fingerprinting, mug shots, and background checks. This could take up to four hours, depending on how busy the jail is at the time. As soon as booking is complete, we can start the process of posting bail. However, we can start the bail process immediately.
The Bail Bond Process
Once the amount of bail has been set, we can work with you to get your friend or family member released from jail. You will need to pay a fee, called a bail bond premium, to the bail bonds agent. This fee is equal to 10% of the total bail amount. For example, if the bail is set at $15,000, the amount of the fee will be $1,500. The bail bond premium is not refundable. Even if the charges are dismissed or the defendant is found not guilty, this fee is retained by the bail agent.
Once this fee has been paid, and all paperwork has been signed, we will post the bail amount to the Taft Jail or court. After bail has been posted, it could take anywhere from 2-6 hours for the defendant to be released from the jail.
We know that the bail bonds process can be overwhelming, but with the help of an expert bondsman, it can be much easier. We can help you bring your loved one home as quickly and easily as possible.
Call us now at 1-877-861-3761 or 661-347-1395 and a bondsman will be ready to answer all of your questions and even get the paperwork started for a bail bond for the Taft Jail.
