My sister was arrested a few hours ago and I’m working on getting the money together to get her out. How can I get a bondsman to pass on that info? My sister hasn’t called any of us yet, but I think that’s because she doesn’t know any phone numbers. I just want her to know we’re working on this so she doesn’t need to worry.
Unfortunately, the jail does not allow anyone to pass on messages to a defendant. They won’t relay messages from family members, from an attorney or from a bondman. The only way to speak with your sister is for her to contact you or for you to schedule an in-person visit at the jail.
If you’re trying to get her out of jail quickly and you do schedule a visit, this could hold up her booking process, which means it could take longer for you to get her out.
