8811 Cuyamaca Street
Santee, CA 92071-4288
The San Diego Santee Sheriff Department has provided contract law enforcement services to the City of Santee since it became incorporated in 1980. This community is home to a population of 54,700 residents. Santee is located in eastern San Diego County and it is the eleventh largest of San Diego County's 18 cities. Nestled between gently rolling hills and several lakes, Santee offers the convenience of urban living combined with the serenity of the country. With approximately half of its land undeveloped, Santee is one of the few cities left in the county with space to grow. Santee deputies also patrol the unincorporated communities of Lakeside and El Cajon.
Santee has one of the lowest crime rates among cities in San Diego County. Once local sheriffs have booked whatever arrestees they do have into the system, the arrestees are transported to one of two jails. Men are taken to San Diego Central Jail; women go to a center for females – Las Colinas. Because the Las Colinas Detention Facility is also located in Santee, more information about it follows.
Bail Bond Basics
Most of us have a basic idea that bail bonds help people get out of jail, even when they don’t have the full amount of money needed for a release. Bail works this way: the bondsman vouches for the accused for a period that lasts between the present time when they get out of jail, up until their court dates. The percentage of the bond amount you pay for a bond can vary, but it’s generally 10% of the full amount set by the court. For example: if a bond amount is $20,000, you pay a premium of $2,000 to the bondsman, who covers the rest.
Bail bonds are legal contracts. If a defendant doesn’t obey all the stipulations of the contract, the bail can be revoked and he/she is returned to jail. Bail money can be difficult to obtain, especially if there are serious charges, but the cost is worth it because it allows the person you care about most to get out of jail, fast.
When choosing a bail bondsman in the Santee and surrounding San Diego areas, be sure to look for a company that’s been around awhile and that enjoys an excellent reputation. Some bail bondsmen offer illegal discounts or employ unethical business practices. Not so my company: Tonya Page Bail Bonds.
