Bail Bond ResponsibilitiesBail bonds serve as a guarantee for the contract signer (called the "indemnitor"), the licensed bail bondsman, and the court of law. The contract is an agreement between all parties that the accused will appear in court at the expected date. If for some reason the defendant does not appear in court at the expected date, the bondsman and the indemnitor are responsible to get the defendant into court. Generally, this is taken care of with a simple phone call.
