Riverside County is the 4th largest of California's 58 total counties. It is among the fastest growing counties in the country, serving 7,300 square miles and policing 15 of the 26 cities located in Riverside County.
The Riverside Sheriff's Department is the 2nd largest Sheriff's Office in California with five correctional facilities, Coroner-Public Administrator duties and court services.
If you are considering visiting a defendant, it's important to know the Riverside County jail system has strict rules and regulations.
Prior to your visit, you should contact the detention center. All visitors must have proper ID. Minors must be accompanied by an adult and visitors must visit only during appropriate visiting hours. Dress codes will be strictly enforced. Those who are unable to follow the guidelines may lose visiting privileges.

Riverside Sheriff's Station and Jail Information
Blythe Jail

The Blythe jail is located in the eastern portion of Riverside and
houses pre-trial inmates. When someone's been arrested by the Blythe Sheriff or Blythe Police Department, they will be transported to the Blythe Jail at 260 North Spring Street for booking and processing.
Cabazon

Cabazon is serviced by the Riverside Sheriff's Department. The Cabazon
Sheriff's Station provides services to the
following communities; Cabazon, Cherry Valley, Poppet Flats, San
Gorgonio, San
Timoteo Canyon, Twin Pines, and Whitewater. They also provide contract
services
to the Morongo Indian Reservation and to the City of Calimesa.
Coachella

The City of Coachella uses contract law enforcement provided by Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and has done so since 1998. The Coachella Police Department offers specialized services and units in traffic, patrol, investigations and forensics. In 2001, the Sheriff’s Department created and added a new unit of Central Homicide. Most likely, if your loved one or friend is arrested by the Coachella Police Department, they will be taken to Indio Jail facility for booking and processing.
Colorado
River

The Colorado River Sheriff's Station
(formerly the Blythe Station), provides service throughout several
different
communities in Riverside County, such as the Colorado River Indian
Tribe, Eagle
Mountain, Desert Center, Midland, East Blythe, Ripley and the Nicholls
Warm
Springs area. Their jurisdiction is from the eastern state line of
Arizona to
the western side of Red Cloud Road.
Hemet

The Hemet Sheriff's Station operates under the Riverside
Sheriff Station for the Riverside County. That includes over 7,000
square miles
and more than 3,000 dedicated men and women officers. They are the
second
largest department in the state of California. The Hemet Sheriff Station
patrols
a vast number of communities including, but not limited to, Anza, East
Hemet,
Green Acres, Idyllwild, Juniper Flats, Mountain Center, Nuevo, Soboba
Hot
Springs, Winchester and Lakeview.
Indian
Wells

The City of Indian Wells contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff’s
Department for their policing services. In addition, the City of Indian
Wells contracts for two full-time motor enforcement officers and two
full-time Special Enforcement Team officers.

The Indio Station is operated under the Riverside County Sheriff's They have been providing services since 1893 and are currently the second largest department in the state of California. The Indio Station currently serves the communities of, Arabia, Bermuda Dunes, Chiriaco Summit, Cottonwood Spring Desert Beach and Haven, Flowing Wells, Hundred Palms, Indio Hills, Joshua Tree, Mecca, North Shore, Oasis, Salton Sea, Sun City and Thermal. They also provide contracted police services to other areas which are Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District, the City of Coachella, and the City of La Quinta.
Indio Jail

The City of Indio contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for their police services. Arrestees will be transported to the Indio Jail facility, located at 46-057 Oasis Street. As the largest jail facility in the Coachella valley, the Indio Jail houses both male and female pre-trial inmates. However, if for any reason the jail facility is overcrowded, arrestees may be taken to the Southwest Detention Center.

The Jurupa Valley Station operates under the Riverside Sheriff's
Department that runs Riverside County. The Jurupa Valley is responsible
for several unincorporated areas including, Belltown, Coronita, El
Cerrito, Glen Avon, Highgrove, Home Gardens, Jurupa, Lake Hills, Mira
Loma, Pedley, Rubidoux and Sunnyslope. If someone you know has been
arrested and taken into custody in the Jurupa area, they will be
transported to the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside. The
Jurupa Valley Station also provides contracted police services to the
City of Norco.
Lake
Elsinore

Located on the western side of Riverside County, Lake Elsinore Station
operates under the Riverside
Sheriff's Station. They provide services to a number of communities
including,
Alberhill, El Cariso, Glen Eden, Glen Ivy Hot Springs, Good Hope, La
Cresta,
Lakeland Village, Meadowbrook, Ortega Hills, Temescal Canyon, and Warm
Springs.
They are also in a contracted agreement with the cities of Lake Elsinore
and
Wildomar for using their police services. Arrestees in the area of Lake
Elsinore will be transported to the Southwest Detention Facility in
Murrieta for booking
and processing.

The Moreno Valley Station provides their law enforcement services to approximately 180,000 civilians in the Moreno Valley area. If someone is arrested in the Moreno Valley area, they may be taken temporarily to the Moreno Valley Station, however, most arrestees will be transported to the Robert Presley Detention Center for booking and processing into the system.
Murrieta

The Murrieta Police Department is committed to keeping Murrieta safe by
providing proactive and dedicated public service. When someone is arrested in Murrieta and taken into custody by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department or the Murrieta Police Department, they will be transported to the Southwest Detention Center.
Norco

The City of Norco contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for City Sheriff Services. The Norco office has limited hours of operation, and is open only from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Palm
Desert

The Palm Desert Sheriff's Station currently operates the western side of the Coachella Valley. The areas they service include 1000 Palms, Andreas Hills, Joshua Tree National Park, North Palm Springs, Painted Hills, Sky Valley and Thousand Palms. They also provide service through a contracted agreement for the cities of Indian Wells, Palm Desert, and Rancho Mirage. Those arrested by the Riverside Sheriff's Department in the Palm Desert and Coachella Valley will usually be taken to the Indio Jail for booking and processing. Bail can be posted at the Indio Jail.

The Perris Sheriff Station has been operating under the Riverside County Sheriff Station since April of 1996. They serve as a contracted police force for the cities of Canyon Lake, Menifee and Perris. They also serve the communities of, Gavilan Hills, Glen Valley, Homeland, Lake Matthews, Mead Valley, Romoland, and Woodcrest.When someone is arrested in the Perris area they will be transported to either the Robert Presley Detention Center or the Southwest Detention Center, depending upon the specific area in which they were arrested.
Rancho Mirage

Rancho Mirage is located in Riverside County. It is 110 miles east of Los
Angeles and 110 miles northeast of San Diego. Law enforcement is provided to the
City of Rancho Mirage by contract with the Riverside County Sheriff's
Department.
Robert Presley Jail - Riverside

The Robert Presley Detention Center Jail is Located in the heart of downtown
Riverside. There are two separate public parking structures available located directly at the corner of Lemon and 12th streets. For anyone visiting an inmate at the Robert Presley Detention Center, visitation is by appointment only. You must call the day prior to the requested visiting day in order to schedule an appointment. Appointments are available in the morning, afternoon and evening. Visitations are scheduled every day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can call to schedule a visit at (951) 341-8888.
Smith Correctional - Banning Jail

The Banning Police station does not have a jail facility, therefore, if someone you know
has been arrested by the Banning Police Department or Riverside Sheriff’s
Department in the Banning area, they may be transported to the Smith
Correctional Facility. The Smith Correctional Facility jail also serves other
surrounding communities such as Beaumont and Cabazon. This jail provides back-up
for other Riverside County jails. The jail facility is located just south of the
10 freeway off the Hargrave exit.
Southwest Jail - Murrieta

The Southwest Detention Center jail is located in the City of Murrieta and
houses both male and female pre-trial inmates. It is operated by the Riverside
County Sheriff's Department, which serves the unincorporated areas of Riverside
County, and several incorporated contract cities in the surrounding areas.

The Southwest Sheriff's Station provides services under the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and is in contract with the many cities to provide police services. Those cities are Temecula and De Luz. The Southwest Sheriff's Station also provides police services to the French Valley, Murrieta Hot Springs, and Pechanga communities. Those arrested in the area will be taken to Southwest Detention Center, the station's jail, which is located on the same property.
Temecula Police
Department

The City contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for
Police services. The Temecula Police Department employs officers at the
rate of about 1 Officer per 973 residents. Temecula has two storefront
police locations (one in Old Town Temecula and one in the Promenade
Mall), a traffic team, investigations bureau, and special teams to deal
with drugs and gang-related issuesWhen someone is arrested in the
Temecula they will be transported to the
Southwest Detention Center located at 30755-B Auld Road in Murietta.
Women will
be transported to the Banning Jail on South Hargrave Street in Banning.
