A spokesperson for the Chula Vista Police Department has said that investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for three unsolved hit-and-run cases within the city’s limits.
The first hit-and-run happened in January, 2017, police said, while the second and third took place in September 2017 and January 2018.
The cases are believed to be unrelated, investigators said. In the most recent accident, an elderly man was hit and killed. He sustained serious injuries and died at a nearby hospital after transport. The vehicle in this case is described as being a white SUV.
In September, the car in question was likely an older model Buick, Pontiac or Lincoln sedan. The victim in that incident survived.
The third hit-and-run, from January 2017, involved a red Mercury Mountaineer or Ford Explorer. The victim in this case did not survive.
Anyone who believes they have information that could help CVPD investigators identify the suspects in these crimes is asked to contact the Chula Vista Police.
