A spokesperson for the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the Cupertino High School campus was evacuated earlier this months after school officials received a bomb threat.
According to school officials, the threat was initiated through a series of text messages; one student received a series of threats, the official said, and the school was evacuated as a precaution.
The head coach for the softball team took to Facebook to let followers know that his team was evacuated during the first inning of a game.
School officials said they contacted the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department as soon as they learned of the threat. After further investigation, it was determined that the threat was not legitimate.
Anyone who believes they have information that could aid in the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for the bomb threat are asked to contact the SCCSD. Tips can be passed off anonymously.
