The Bail ProcessUpon contacting our company, we’ll ask a few quick questions to get the bail process started. Information such as the defendants complete name, date of birth, and when they were arrested are helpful. Further, we may ask what their charges are, how long they’ve lived in their current residence, if they’re employed, etc. We need this information in order to assess the risk of taking on the bail bond.
A bail bond in Pomona, as well in all of California by law generally costs a fee of 10%. This is a non-refundable percentage which is calculated from the total amount of the bail. For example, if the bail amount is set at $25,000, the fee will be $2,500. Our company never charges additional fees or taxes for a bail bond. You will always be given the exact cost of the bond prior to any contract being written. As a convenience to our clients, we also offer various bail bond payment options. We always accept cash, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover as payment. Most of our clients like the convenience of using their credit card and taking advantage of our bail by email or fax, which can be the fastest way of obtaining a bail bond.
Pomona Police Department & Jail ReleasePomona Police Department
490 West Mission Blvd.
Pomona, CA 91766
Those taken into custody by the Pomona Police Department will be transported to the Pomona Station location which is a temporary holding/booking station. Within the first 3 hours, they will be allowed phone calls. Inmates are allowed a visit within the first 24 hours of their booking, or prior to their arraignment, whichever comes first..
If not bailed out quickly from there, arrestees will be transported to the much larger Los Angeles Men’s Central Jail. Women will be transported to the Lynwood Jail ocated in Lynwood on Alameda Street.
Once the detainee is booked into the system at the Pomona Police Department, a bail bond can be posted. It will typically take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours for their release after a bond has been posted. However, should they be transferred to one of the larger Los Angeles jail facilities, it will generally take a much longer time, (up to 24 hours) for them to be released. We always recommend posting bail while defendant's are still at a smaller facility for a much faster release time. Please be aware that some inmates must remain in jail until their arraignment.
