Compton Inmate Information

Law enforcement in the City of Compton is provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The Compton Station is located between the 110, 91, 15 and 710 freeways. The station is on Willowbrook Avenue between Compton Boulevard and Alondra Boulevard. This Sheriff's Station services the zip codes 90220, 90222, 90223 and 90224.

The Compton Station has a unique program that many families find helpful: the Clergy Council. The Clergy Council is a collaboration of area pastors and ministers who work with the Sheriff's Department.  The Council provides faith based outreach, emergency counseling and support for local families.  Over a dozen churches are represented and their combined congregations number in the tens of thousands.

Arrest Process in Compton

Arrestees in this area will taken to the LASD Compton Station for booking and processing after arrest. Women who are arrested in Compton are generally taken to the Century City Station, LASD's Lynwood jail and can be bailed out at Lynwood.

LASD will often transfer male detainees who are not bailed out quickly to Men's Central Jail, also known as the Twin Towers Jail Complex, located in downtown Los Angeles. A transfer adds significantly to the amount of time the arrestee will be in jail. In addition to the physical time for transfer, there is paperwork and computer updating that must take place before an individual can be released on bail. Initiating the Bail Bond process as soon as possible will result in the fastest release from jail and may avoid transfer.
