The Shasta County Jail houses pre-arraignment, pre-trial, and sentenced inmates. The facility is a high-security jail and is rated to house 317 male inmates and 64 female inmates.
Visiting Rules & Hours
All visitors must contact the reception officer prior to visiting in order to coordinate with the inmate’s visitation schedule. Each inmate is allowed up to two scheduled visits; inmate workers are allowed three scheduled visits. The visiting schedule and rules are posted in the jail lobby.
Rules
- Visitors must be 18 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
- All visitors are required to fill out a visitor’s slip
- All visitors must have a valid photo identification
- No carry in items are allowed in jail such as purses and packages
- All visits are 30 minutes in length (Inmate workers are allowed 1 hour)
- No more than 2 visitors per visit
- Inmates are allowed 2 visits weekly, one per day
- Any person and their belongings are subject to search and must pass through a metal detector before entering the visiting area

1A: Sunday 8:30 am to 11:30 am, Thursday 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
1B/1C: Tuesday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Saturday 8:30am – 11:30 am, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
1B/1C (Workers Only): Sunday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
1D / Medical Females: Sunday 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Wednesday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
1D / (workers only): Friday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
2A : Wednesday 8:30 am – 11:30 am, Thursday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
2B: Monday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am – 11:30 am
2C: Thursday 8:30 am – 11:30 am, Friday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
2D: Sunday 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Tuesday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Medical (Males Only): Saturday 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Sunday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
