The Colusa County jail houses both sentenced and pre-trial inmates and is rated to hold up to 92 inmates at one time. The Sheriff’s Department is responsible for administering the facility with a staff of eight correctional officers, one jail commander, one sergeant, and three corporals.
A variety of programs within the facility are made available to the inmates. These include religious, medical, dental, and mental health services as well as Alcoholics Anonymous. School programs and work furlough is also available.
Visiting Colusa County Jail
- Two 30-minute visits/week per inmate will be allowed.
- Photo ID will be required in order to visit.
- Any person under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Children may not be left unattended in the lobby or visiting room.

Administrative segregation: Tuesdays 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
General population: Wednesdays and Fridays 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
High-profile: Tuesdays and Saturdays 11:00 am – 12:00 noon
Maximum security: Mondays and Saturdays 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

General population: Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00 am – 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
