The Amador County Jail houses Both pre-trial and sentenced inmates. All inmates are provided with adequate care.  As an effort to better themselves they are given the opportunity to serve the community. The facility has the capacity to house up to 76 inmates at one time.

Visiting Amador County Jail

The Amador County Jail allows inmates contact visits with their attorney’s and with their children 10 years of age or younger.  A contact visit is when an inmate is allowed phyisical contact between themselves and the visitor. Contact visits are allowed only if the inmate has been sentenced to 30 days or more and as long as they attend the required parenting classes while in custody and after their release.

All maximum security inmates and inmates with a hold on them awaiting to transferred to another facility are only allowed non contact visits, in which physical contact is permitted.

1. All visits will be non contact until the inmate has been approved for contact visits.
2. If an inmate violates any of the detention facility rules, they will lose their visiting rights.
3. Visiting is subject to termination at any time for security reasons.

Visiting Hours

Males: Saturday- 8:30 am – 10:30 am and 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Sunday- 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Females: Saturday- 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Sunday- 8:30 am – 10:30 am
