Bail Bonds for Pitchess Jail
The Pitchess Detention Center is located in Castaic, California. It is the oldest operating jail in Los Angeles County. It has four main prison buildings. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, handles the administration of the Pitchess jail and uses the facility as an overflow to the Men’s Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles. If a defendant is bailed out of Pitchess they will likely be transported back downtown by Sheriff’s Deputies for release. If this occurs, the waiting time can be lengthy.
Inmate Visitation at Pitchess
If you are considering a visit to an arrestee or sentenced prisoner at Pitchess jail, you will want to adhere to the following rules:
- Go as early as possible. It takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to process visitors.
- Weekend visiting is allowed only. Visitors will be given 2 hours to spend with an inmate.
- Leave all cell phones in the car. Guards will not let you in with one and won’t hold your cell phone for you.
- You may want to bring water and/or food for the long wait-time in lines.
- Make sure to know the booking/processing number of the defendant you’re visiting. Just knowing their first and last name will not suffice.
- Visitors must take a bus which transports them to the prison building. While there, they will often wait for quite a while in an uncomfortable hallway until the inmate’s name is called.
- Visitors will be assigned telephone stations. For the duration of the visit, they will sit behind unbreakable glass directly across from the inmate.
