The Indio Jail is part of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department network of facilities and is the primary jail facility for Coachella Valley.It is possible to post bail bonds at the Indio Jail 24 hours a day.

General Visiting Information for Indio Jail

If you are planning to visit an inmate at the Indio Jail it is best to adhere to all facility rules and regulations.

  • Anyone entering a Riverside County correctional facility for purposes of visiting inmates are subject to a search of their person and belongings by correctional staff and are subject to warrant checks and arrest.
  • Inmates incarcerated in Indio Jail are allowed a maximum of two visits per week. Each visit is approximately 45 minutes.
  • Anyone visiting an inmate must present acceptable picture identification which includes all forms of government identification cards.
  • Visitors must be 18 years or older to visit. Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Visitors will only be allowed to visit with the inmate they signed up to visit. They may not change or trade inmates with another visitor. Once a visitor departs the visitation area, the visit with the inmate will be terminated.
  • For attorney or special visits, please contact the facility where the inmate is housed to schedule a visit.
  • No alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, tear gas, pepper spray (OC dispensers), cameras, or knives are allowed in the visiting area.
  • Visitors bringing illegal contraband into the visiting area is subject to arrest.
  • Smoking is not allowed in any part of the jail including the lobby.
  • Food or drink is not allowed in the lobby and visiting areas.
  • Visitors must dress in appropriate attire.
  • Visitors committing a criminal act anywhere on jail property is subject to arrest.
  • Violation of any of the above rules by a visitor may subject them to loss of visiting privileges.
  • All facilities in the Riverside County Sheriff’s Corrections Division reserve the right to terminate any visit if deemed necessary for security purposes. Staff members will ask visitors to safely exit the facility if this occurs.
